It is with a heavy heart, but a deep sense of pride, that we announce the closing of BigMac BBQ & Catering.

​

 

For the past five years, we have had the absolute privilege of serving this community. From local events to family gatherings, you welcomed our "Bold Southern BBQ" into your lives, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

 

In particular, we want to express how deeply moved we have been by the couples who chose us for their weddings. To be entrusted with such a massive milestone is a profound honour, and being a part of your celebrations is something we will never forget.

 

 

Beyond the business, the greatest gift of these last five years has been the chance to work together as a family. We have learned so much about each other through the long days and the busy seasons—and the fact that we still truly like each other after all of it is invaluable! Those shared moments and the bonds we’ve strengthened are things we will carry in our hearts forever.

 

 

Our journey was also made possible by the incredible community partnerships we’ve built. We want to extend a special thank you to GL Heritage Brewing Co., Unifor Local 444, Tony Blaks Union Bakery, Medel Brothers Quality Meats, Lot 10 Brewing Co., Parks and Rec Gastropub and so many others. These weren’t just business transactions; they were genuine friendships that made working in Windsor-Essex a joy.

 

 

This was not a decision made lightly. However, as we look toward the future, we have decided that it is the right time to prioritize our family and reclaim the time that running a small business often demands.

 

 

The landscape of the food industry has changed significantly. Rising food costs, along with the increasing expense of fuel and packaging, have created a challenging environment. Our goal has always been to provide high-quality, authentic BBQ at a fair price. Looking ahead, we realized that to remain profitable, we would have to raise our prices to a level we simply didn't feel comfortable asking our customers to pay.

Rather than waiting for the financial "crunch" that many businesses are currently facing, we have chosen to go out on a high note. We wanted to leave while we were still successful and while our passion for the craft remained intact.

 

 

We want to thank every one of you who stood in line, placed an order, or shared a meal with us. You turned a family dream into a local success story.
